Making A Sea Witch Vision Board
Manifest Your Most Authentic Nautical Life
Vision boards are one of those projects that are so often talked about, but not many people know how to make the most out of their manifesting power. When we create a vision board, we are essentially saying to the universe ‘this is the vibe, I see it, I am living it.’, which is why vision boards can be created at any time of the year, they can be created multiple times during the year as well, for anything you want. You are not limited to the confines of January to manifest your dream year. Likewise, how you create your vision board is up to you, though I will offer some advice that has helped me when making mine, and what to consider when making a sea witch vision board.
- Go with a vibe- not a goal: There are many times where I’ve made a vision board with a very specific thing I wanted to manifest (NYT best selling author comes to mind), and every time I’d look at it, I just kept thinking “well dang, how is that going to happen? I’m not even writing right now!” I put doubt between myself and the goal, rather than focusing on the feeling I get when I’m writing, which is exhilaration for the world I’m creating. So instead of posting awards and book signing events, I instead added pictures of soft, cozy writing spaces, and the location where my book was set to get inspired to write (or as close as possible if I was writing fantasy).
- Add things you already know are happening or have currently happened- pictures of yourself with motivational quotes on them. Pictures of your pets, or previous happy times in your life that hold the same energy you want to keep moving forward. If you can see it’s already happened, you’ll have the confidence that it will happen again!
- Make your vision board adaptable- I recently started using a large cork board for my vision board, using decorative push pins to hold the photos in place. This has many benefits. I can rearrange, add and remove photos from my board as I wish, I can keep the photos I love for future boards, and I can reuse the board every year, which makes the eco-warrior in me absolutely giddy!
- Make multiple vision boards- tape them to the inside of your bathroom vanity, your closet, on your fridge. Whether it’s the same board or many different ones, keep those manifestations at the forefront of your mind as often as possible! (I’m not sure if this works for android as well, but iPhone users can add a Pinterest widget to their phone that will automatically cycle through one of your boards, which you can customize for each or all of the pictures on your vision boards.)
Now onto how to make a sea witch vision board!
First, you want to identify what ‘sea witch’ means to you. Do you think of a rocky New England shoreline, a tropical paradise with turtles and palm trees, the richest coral reefs in the ocean bursting with all manner of sea life, or maybe even a brackish swamp with emerald moss and twisting vines. It may not even be the ocean, and that’s fine, because sea witches are also water witches! Maybe you are drawn to lakes or rivers, seeing water ripple over slick stone and shimmering in the sunlight through a forest. The important thing is that you find which description brings that gentle, happy smile to your face, and then you’ll know what images you should be searching up.
You can use many of the examples below interchangeably to fit the vibe you are aiming for. Going back to my first suggestion, you might have goals that you want to achieve as a sea witch. A certain travel destination, a house on the beach, a curated altar with shells and mermaid statues, etc. While all of these things are absolutely attainable for you, if you know you’re going to see the beach house on your vision board and think ‘how?’ every time, then go for the vibe that surrounds it instead.

- Beach quotes
Who doesn’t love a good, get your tail to the beach or mermaid hair, don’t care quote? These can easily be added to previous photos of yourself at the beach or in the water using any photo editing app.
- Sea Shells and rocky shorelines
The new england coast is famous for its rocky shores, and while there are beautiful shells to be found here, the most common ones are mussels, oysters, and clams, along with varying colors of sea glass
- Lighthouses
I. Love. Lighthouses. They are pillars of hope and guidance in dark times
- Fishing boats & docks
The sailboats and fishing vessels are a classic staple you’ll find when looking up New England nautical photos. From displayed swordfish to the familiar anchor motif, these elements are fantastic to incorporate for this vision board.

- Turtles, Dolphins, Rays, Sharks
You can find these animals in many areas of the world, but to me, they have always resonated with warm turquoise waters. If there is an animal you associate with the topics, you’ll want to add it to this board!
- Palm trees
It doesn’t get more tropical than palm trees! Anytime I imagine a tropical paradise, it’s always with me leaning against a shady palm tree with my toes buried in the white sand.
- Conch shells
These are the most common shells associated with tropical waters. But drupe, scallop, murex and sometimes even nautilus shells can wash up on these shores!
- Surf boards
The waters in my hometown were not suitable for surfing, as I grew up with bays and harbors rather than oceans. Even in Rhode Island, the waves fluctuate often, and only certain beaches even allow surfing. I’ve always pictured surfing in locations like Hawaii, so I would use a similar image for this vision board.
- Coral Reefs
Coral reefs are underwater cities of life, bursting with all manner of sea life and they always fill me with a sense of peace that I associate with warm waters

- Alligators, crocodiles, frogs, heron
You can always find these species entangled with the deep green waters and tall grasses of the swamp, and the ones you choose to focus on could also become spirit guides who can help you in your practice.
- Brackish Swamp/ Bayou:
What is a swamp witch without the swamp?! Some of my favorite pictures of the swamps that I use come from the wildlife refuges in Louisiana and the west coast of Florida!
- Emerald moss & twisting vines:
You may wish to zoom in further on the highlights of the swamp and focus on the plant life. Another great addition are the pitcher plants. They are similar to venus fly traps, a pretty predator that lures flies with its deceptively sweet scent!
No matter which Sea Witch Vision Board you create, make sure you include what feels the most authentic to you, and the rest will swim into place!
